These Last Few Weeks

These Last Few Weeks

Hello Reader,

I know it has been a while since my last entry and I apologize for that; let me tell you what all has been going on the last few weeks.

Let’s see,  where do I began?

I am back working at my store (for those of you who don’t know I work at Taco Bell) the remodeling finished on August 8th. While we were under construction I was working at the Cottage Grove store. I am definitely happy to be back, the environment at the other store always left me on edge.  The manager there, to put it nicely had no people skills and really seemed to have an issue with me. I felt harassed almost daily about my personal life and other non work related things.

Being back at my store gets me excited to go to work in the morning. My co workers feel more like friends and family. We work as a team and even when mistakes are made they are handled politely and respectfully.

Working at the Cottage Grove store has caused me some real grief this past week. I was suppose to get paid this past Thursday but didn’t because the manager never faxed it in my time slip to corporate. When asked why, she said it wasn’t her problem. Now everything else aside how can a manager do that to someone? Especially someone with a child to take care of?! I am honestly flabbergasted by her lack of commission and pure disregard of my family’s well being. But that’s enough on that topic for now.

Let’s move on…

I had some car problems these past few weeks. I went out to our local Cub Foods to pick up formula and when I came back out my car wouldn’t start. Now it’s true that I don’t drive my car a whole lot but I knew it wasn’t the battery because that was replaced in February. I couldn’t figure out the problem, so I ended up calling my boyfriend to pick me up. He works nights and was sleeping at the time so I felt bad for having to wake him up.  Waking him up also meant waking up our son, who I’d just put down for a nap before I left. The whole thing really messed with our schedule to say the least and it continued to mess with our financial state as the weeks went on.

I’ll explain what I mean by that.

Cause my car wouldn’t start, we had no idea what was wrong with it and didn’t have the time in our schedule to fix the thing, it sat there for almost two weeks. By the time we got a chance to work on it, it had gotten towed a half hour before we showed up. Bummed was an understatement but it got worse. After it was all over we’d paid $280 to get it out of the impound, found out that I needed a new alternator and then we paid an other $92 to get it towed back to our apartment. Quite the expense endeavor!

Now on to cheerier things!

My son’s birthday is next month and I’ve planning my little butt off to get everything ready and I can honestly say… I’m not even close. I have all the party supplies and some small activities planned but we have and will be short on money for a while because of the incident with my check so my options are limited to possibly sliders, chips and cake.  I have been thinking of maybe using some of the money I’ve earned with Dealspotr to order some snacks on amazon or something. I’m still not sure how everything is going to work out but I’m keeping my fingers crossed for a great turn out!

That’s about all I have time for today but I hope you all will be back tomorrow and I’d love you hear from you. Questions, comments or ideas.

Thank you for reading, now go get your mom on!
